Background
U Do It Legal (udiL) needs a user-friendly web application that will showcase their current services while empowering users to advocate for their cases. This platform should be designed to streamline and demystify the intricate legal procedures for its users, making it easier for them to grasp complex legal terminology.

Our Research
Background Research
Our team analyzed research documentation that was previously conducted by udiL, including their own internal research alongside external recommended articles.
Takeaways
Personas
Our team created two personas based on the three use cases for audio (DVRO, divorce, parentage/custody). As DVRO cases are our main focus for this project, we combined divorce and custody for one user.

Takeaways
Journey Mapping
Based on the overarching phases all SRLs would go through, we used our personas to visualize how SRLs going through different types of family and civil law cases may diverge in their user journey.
Takeaways
Site Mapping
I took the lead on this section, working to adjust the existing site map provided to us by the udiL team, adding new sections to it based on the needs of our sponsor. Content added included separate sections for the “3 Step Process”, a packages section for transparent pricing, and resources like the glossary and legal articles.
Mid-Fidelity Designs
With the information from our site map, the team split up pages for each group member to create. We all contributed towards the homepage taking into consideration our sketches and wireframes. When designing, we prioritized the layout of content and simplification of information rather than design and aesthetics. We also kept in mind our sponsor’s preferences for more white space with a clean and minimalistic design.

Final Prototype
Our final prototype is a complete website mockup, that will be implemented by a software team in the future. (UPDATE: Our designs have been implemented, with minor tweaks by the dev team. Click the button below to see our work in action!)

Reflection
For this project, I worked with an amazing group, and an amazing sponsor, which made this project so much fun and important to work on. For my personal contributions, I did the site flow, the packages box, as well as worked on the toolbar and some of the visualizations, like the 3-step process. Overall, I am really proud of this project, and was so excited to see our work go live on their website.
